Who we are

Based in Vancouver, Canada and founded in 2018 by animation veterans Jim Corbett, Dallas Parker, Craig Roberts and Rob Simmons, Doberman has always been about doing things with a different focus. We are obsessed with the art of pre-production and in partnering with world class studios to animate our projects. With that approach, we’re able to keep our team compact and our culture buoyant. This craft-first ethos has led to thoughtful, managed growth and shows we’re very proud of. More importantly, it’s created a workplace culture that is unique in Vancouver; we keep things simple, friendly & professional.

    • Creative Director

    • Co-founder of Doberman Pictures, Dallas is an animation director and producer with over 25 years of experience in broadcast television. In 2018 Dallas personally designed and hand-built all 40 of the studio’s original desks—an experience that reflects his hands-on approach, problem-solving mindset, and respect for craft. While the furniture shop is now firmly a hobby, that same care and attention continues to inform his work in animation.

    • Business Affairs

    • Rob is charged with the business operations of Doberman and he operates on a strict philosophy that the business operations should enable the essential creative efforts of the artists, not frustrate them! A Mechanical Engineer armed with an MBA, Rob has worked in business affairs, finance and studio guidance in animation for over 20 years. A true believer in the power of collaboration in communities, Rob is active with a number of industry associations dedicated to the advancement of the industry in Vancouver, in British Columbia and in Canada.

      Harris
    • Head of IT

    • Bringing 30 years of IT experience to the table, Scott keeps the technology side of Doberman running smoothly; always with an eye to improving the way artists and production do their jobs. Outside of Animation and IT Scott is an established carver and a member of the Gitxsan dance group, Dancers of Damelahamid.
